On 6 April 2022 the China Lake Museum received county approval for the new Phase 2 building plans. James Bell, BZ Construction, will be our prime contractor. The Phase 2 building has evolved from our earlier plans to be a bigger building, with 7200 square feet, that includes restrooms, a utility room, an open area for STEM activities and lectures as well space for a majority of the exhibits still housed in the old O'Club Museum on China Lake. The building will sit just north of the current F/A-18 aircraft with the main entry on the west end of the building. The building will be 16' tall and extend 120' east-west and 60' north-south. So expect to see foundation work begin in the next few weeks.
